Dear Colleagues,
An application has been received from the International Society for Bipolar Disorders (ISBD) to become an Affiliated Association of the World Psychiatric Association; a set of the application is attached (5 documents).
This application was carefully reviewed by the Executive Committee at its recent meeting in February 2012, and was favourably received.
Following statutorial procedures, the Secretariat is now consulting with all Member Societies and the local Zonal Representative about this application, and requests that you send comments and an indication of your support (or otherwise) for the Association becoming an Ad Hoc Affiliated Association, by 8 May 2012 to wpasecretariat@wpanet.org.
This application will then be re-considered by the Executive Committee and a decision made about the admission of the Association as an Ad Hoc Affiliated Association pending ratification at the next General Assembly in Madrid, Spain in September 2014.
